The reform really outdone itself with this one. For years, french secondary exit exam was an argumentative text. For the past four years, we've been learning how to write one. Guess what?
We're not writing one!
Instead, for the test that determines if we get the hell outta there, we're writing an open letter.
You can tell the french teacher is up there going: "OMFG, I've got 2 months to prep them, damn."
Again, we need to pull a miracle out of our asses.
I suppose it isn't too bad... oh only if it could be an open letter about the Quebec educational reform.
Here's how it might go. (Remember, you gotta kiss ass)
The Quebec educational reform is really the best thing to have happened to Quebec since the separation.
Now, the children are learning how writing some bullshit will give them a pass, causing them to think they're successful even when they have failed, because self-confidence is far more important than actually getting something right.
Because really, it doesn't matter if they didn't get the answer right, nor if they weren't even remotely close. All that matters is that they have questions that lead them to think profoundly about the problem, in the hopes that they will do better next time. Questions like: "What do you think your family values have affected the way you solved this problem?" and "What teamwork techniques did you use?"
So really, it doesn't matter if I crash my plane because I converted 22, 700 lbs of kerosene into 22,700 kg of kerosene, ran out of gas midway to my destination, and crashed and burned. Because in the few minutes it take for my plane to glide into a pasture of cow shit (or a drag-race track), I can scribble on the INSANELY closely spaced lines:
My family values taught me responsibility. I am responsible because I will most likely be the first to die from my mistake. The teamwork technique I used, one of non-communication, did not help at all. However, I will blame the conversion error on my co-pilot and never fly with him again.
=========================
As a side note, the reform has made it that if you show up to the exam, you get 40% right off. So, what I can't understand is that some Sec 4s managed to get 0. [No cheating involved I believe]
If you can do something, do it; if you can't do something, fail at it epically, eh guys. If you keep it up, we're going to make some t-shirts with "Watch how I fail" stamped on the back.
=========================
Also, you gotta give it to Winner. (Wener)
"Listen up people, because this will help you accomplish a dream that you've had for a long time: getting the hell out of here." -Mr. Wener, during meeting for CEGEPs.

HIS=ENG, ENG=HIS
In the IB program, there's lots of talk about "competences transversales". (Interchangeable competency)
It just means mixing a bunch of subjects up into one giant project, which saves the teachers from the oh-so-difficult task of coming up with project ideas. (Seesh, they just need to come up with one, we actually need to do it. It's not like there is somebody making sure they do the corrections.)
HIS=ENG is a great example of interchangeable competencies.
I got history, math, and english in there all at once!
But seriously, HIS is quasi-ENG class now...in terms of class misbehavior.
The wannabe-teacher, aka teacher-in-training, aka TIT, aka *term deleted* as some call her, has the same problems as the ENG teacher, although on a different level. Ironically, the tallest troublemaker in our class, Prick, wasn't even there. (He is screwing Spanish chicas in Spain~envy~) Yet, everybody was talking/shouting/screaming. Poor TIT barely got to do any teaching.
If she was in politics, it would be like Obama stepping on the podium and announcing war on every redneck in the USA.
In a nutshell, using the little "on-air" time she had (so to speak), she broadly displayed her political and personal views on the subject matter! We don't give a tiny rat's ass about which political party screwed another in the 1800s, or what you think of it, nor do we want to know about how big of an asskisser the catholic clergy was, ESPECIALLY, when we've already gone through the subject TWO times. (That's the problem with history: IT DOESN'T FREAKIN' CHANGE!—did you expect it to? What have you been snorting?) So naturally, she totally lost control of the class. Very hectic.

The Weekly Double. Mr. Wener-style (or not) jokes supplied by Double:

Flashback: "Alors, les patriotes—"Incidentally, she committed a very big mistake today. A very big no-no in the classroom world.
"WHO IS GOING TO MCDO[nalds] FOR LUNCH!?!??!?!"

The new CSL building Conspiracy
This is us
THIS is our competition.
It's tight, CSL offers basic IB program. CSA offers IB program plus a bunch of sport, music, dance, and God-knows-what else programs. We are cheaper. They are more expensive. We are greasers, they are Socs.
The poor and stupid geniuses go to CSL.
The rich and stupid [occasional geniuses] go to CSA
We manage to beat them in the provincial exams by the sweat of our brows and the skin of our asses.
CSL is old and poor. Everything in the school dates back to the 80s, when it was founded. The computers are more recent, but if you compare in computer years, then our computers are like this:
Anyways, I don't know from where, but somehow, CSL got enough money from the school board (and from threatening parents I suppose) to purchase or lease a "new" building for us. This project has apparently been going on for a few years now, but we havn't heard of it since awhile.

It is here: (Wow! A soccer field, a real gym! It's heaven!)
Just a quick note, it is an abandoned school of another school board.
Another quick note: It's a frequent location for drug deals and monkeys sporting tattoos and spray paint.
One last quick note: we're not getting it.*
Yeah, as you may or may not know, College St-Anne got jealous.*
If CSL gets a new building, CSA will lose potential students.
So instead, they've bribed the owners not to sell it to us. (Or maybe they've bought it.)
Moral of story: Have money.
Pity. There WAS going to be an illegal giant paintball war fest at the Lachine building. But that was back when we thought we were going to get a new building. As it is now, if we were to do it, we'd better not get caught, or—have lots of money.
Maybe we should do it at CSA for revenge...Ohh, imagine that nice building all splattered with paint...XD. No, even better, imagine a few fat st-annais in their powder-blue uniforms splattered with red paint!
